Today I fished with Elden, Mike and Mike's two boys who are up here for the youth hunt this weekend. They had about an 8 hr. drive, and didn't get up to their camp until about 2 a.m., so I told them we'd leave the resort around 9:30 or so, since the best bite has been closer to mid-day lately after the water warms up a couple degrees. We got the lines in the water shortly after 10 a.m., and I didn't even get three lines out before we had our first keeper bite a Walleyes Choice (http://www.walleyeschoice.com) I-76 harness. I quickly marked an icon at that spot and we circled back around...this time I made sure we had all six lines out before we hit the spot. Two more nice fish came to the boat and then we had quite a lull in the action when the wind decided to lay down and then eventually switch direction. We moved deeper and got into a couple bigger fish, and lost a few too that would have been keepers. All fish came on harnesses with I-76, I-42, and I-68 doing the most damage. We would have had a nice stringer of fish if they all would have held on just a little bit longer today. Yesterday's strong cold front and the water temperature dropping so much recently didn't help the bite at all, so we were thankful for what we did catch today. Here's some pictures of today's trip, and of last Friday's trip, which I forgot to put up. On last Friday's 1/2 day trip we were also trolling Walleyes Choice harnesses behind bottom bouncers. Tomorrow we'll be out there a little earlier, we'll see how the bite shapes up. Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
