This morning I got to fish with the best crew ever...my kids. We had plans of getting out there a little earlier than we did, but we finally made it out by the crack of 8 a.m. or so. With a few charters coming up my main goal was to just find some fish and maybe get a few for a family fish fry this week. We headed south to some deeper water off of black bottom, but the water temp. has dropped 13 degrees from the last time I was there...and we didn't have much luck. We had one good bite there trolling harnesses then went back north to cast jigs along a weedline. I lost a decent fish and then Cam caught his first walleye pitching jigs, it was a thrill for the both of us. He paid attention when I told him what we were doing, and it wasn't long before the call of, "I got one" was heard. He's now hooked on jigging! We then went to a deeper breakline where the wind should have pushed some dirtier water into, and here we finally got into some nice keepers. I landed 3 nice fish and Cam lost a couple and caught another undersized walleye. Noel was our official "net girl" today, and did a great job getting the fish in the boat. We were going to keep fishing, but a nasty rain storm was approaching and we got off the water just in time. My buddy Ray gave us a walleye and a perch that he had caught...so we have plenty of fish for supper! Here's a few pics of today's fun time on the water. Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
