Yes...it was a "hot" bite today, it was 91 degrees out this morning, but that didn't keep the fish from biting. We were a little short-handed at work, so I couldn't do a charter today (nobody to watch the kids). Cam has a friend staying with us and going to vacation bible school with us this week, so I thought I'd take them out fishing. We could only fish for a couple hours because of other things planned for the afternoon, but we had a fun couple of hours. We didn't get out on the bay until about 9:30, and by 11:30 we had 6 nice walleyes, a bunch of undersized walleyes, a couple jumbo perch and let a bunch of suckers go. I've never caught so many big suckers this time of year, especially on crawler harnesses. We trolled exclusively with Walleyes Choice (http://www.walleyeschoice.com) harnesses this morning, using the same colors that have been very good lately. I-78, I-80, and I-110 caught the most fish today. I-42 has been a good one lately too. We were fishing in 27 to 30 fow south of Gladstone where the fish were eating bugs hatching out of the bottom. Noel caught her biggest walleye to date...a nice 21 incher that she was very proud of. She needed a little help holding the pole, but her determination to get it in the boat was awesome to see. Once again, only saw a handful of boats out this morning. Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
