Holy Crap.........You still remember how to fish???   Went out on the middle upper LBDN bay this afternoon with a buddy and his two young boys. Kids caught a few small perch and fishing pretty much sucked with trucks , sleds and wheelers driving through our tip ups and between our shacks.  Too many people and glad I dont fish up there often.

Glad to see you out and alive. Hope to get out with you sometime and will keep you posted on the walleye bite over here. Nothing exciting going on........yet!!!  Keep taking those damn whitefish out of the lake!!!

Slammer!!!

Fishing has sucked for me so far. Guys are driving trucks all over, I wouldn't just yet. Where we fished yesterday was a maximum of 8 inches . Quite a bit of snow on the lake with some slush pockets to surprise ya. Warmer weather for the next week won't help. Best bet IMO is ATV or sled, but lots of trucks out there. South of Gladstone is ATV or sled travel and just saw a ship come into Escanaba this morning.

Ice conditions off the Terrace are pretty damn good. Have seen a few trucks driving out to the break, and a friend of mine saw some guys hauling a trailer out there past the break with a truck. No pressure cracks that I have seen and travel with an ATV or sled should be good heading south at least to the banana, provided you don't go near the shipping lane. Heading north from the Terrace should be no problem whatsoever.

Hey Mark, just noticed yesterday there is a large pressure crack south of the Terrace running east west.
Looks like it starts from the Escanaba River area and runs north east at an angle across the bay. I have not been out there since I saw it but it must be fairly big as you can see it from quite a distance. Maybe someone else has more info.

Travel out from the Terrace is good, but haven't seen anyone venture too far south and I haven't been south of the Terrace. Got blown off the lake today with 20-30 MPH winds. Nasty!!! Don't know if the wind today created any changes out there as I was fishing BBDN.

Yup!!! And it has sucked so far this year!!!
Saw a few guys fishing south of the Terrace tonight out by the banana and south east of there. They. Left off the Terrace and took a pretty direct route, but looks like ther is another pressure crack to deal with.
Have no details on it as I am only seeing it with the binocs from my house up on the bluff.
Also heard it is OK off the Esky beach house and pretty far south of that. Haven't heard a report that gets me jacked yet!!!
Hope this helps!!! Warm weather this weekend and will be in Minnasota.

Hey Mark, nothing to report here as I have not been out do to the weather.
Still see people with quads going straight out from the Terrace. Don't know what the shore is like , but have seen a few walking out. Have been disgusted with BBDN too. Have a friend who is the Burbot King and he has been getting skunked and really don't know what the hell is going on this year!!!
I'm heading to New York Wednesday and won't be back for a week. I have never given up this early in the season before, but I really think I'm done for the year due to schedule and a health problem.
If it stays fairly cold it should be fairly good ice everywhere north of the Terrace for a while (ATV or foot travel) only IMO. Good luck and keep us posted!!!
