Tim McIntyer finally got his wall hanger walleye Saturday morning. He landed a 31 1/2 inch, 10 pound 11 ounce walleye on a 3 inch minnow on a...

Thin Ice Alert!
(Preview)
A friend of mine found some pretty thin ice (only 6 inches!!!) out from the Hunter's Point Launch. It hasn't been that warm for that long, so it must be the current eating it away from the bottom. He said there had been about 2 feet of ice in this area. Just passing it on...

2-27 and 2-28 report
(Preview)
I headed out off the Gladstone harbor Sunday for the first time since last Wednesday. Marked decent numbers of fish, but they seemed "a little off." I did have 5 fish take a swipe at various jigs, but couldn't get the hooks into them. Ended up landing one undersized walleye on a #9 Glow Hot Per...

"Slayer" slays the perch!!!
(Preview)
Had a chance to fish with my good friend Capt. Jay Nieman this past weekend. We hit the ice pretty hard for the last 4 days and did very well on the perch during the day and caught a few "eyes" a couple of evenings too. By far the best bait as far as putting numbers of nice fish on the ice was the fir...

Feb. 19th Satellite... Looks like a bunch of ice blew out into Lake Michigan! I would say anywhere south of Escanaba is pretty risky now with any kind of north wind...

Ah, fresh Burbot...
(Preview)
I had some fresh Burbot for supper tonight (thanks alot Tom). I attribute all my symptoms... "the shakes", "the drips", and my bald spot, to lack of Burbot! But all is well now. I need to go catch some myself as soon as this stinkin' wind lets up!!! Some folks told me parts of the bay looked like a dis...

Well, the fishing gods must have figured I've finally paid my dues for this season, and blessed me with an awesome night of fishing! Fished just south of Gladstone in 30 FOW. Was on the ice by 5pm. Didn't mark much until around 5:30. Marked good numbers, but they weren't very active until about 5:45. App...

Recommend fishing north of Gladstone...
(Preview)
FYI...We recommend fishing the upper bay from Gladstone north for walleye. There are so many smelt to compete with south of Gladstone, it's made the walleye bite tough (to say the least). I don't know if I have ever seen this many smelt as far north in the bay as what I have this year. But even north of Glad...

Couple big crappies...
(Preview)
My brother Kenneth, my wife Theresa, and I hit an inland lake this afternoon for some panfish. The bluegills for the most part were nothing to jump up and down about. I only caught one small gill and one small crappie. The lake is supposed to have a few walleye too, so I spent quite bit of time jigging, but n...
